YOU’RE INVITED TO HOST AN EVENING OF FEMINIST ART + ACTION

Featuring Films, Friends, Conversation 

Tuesday, October 27th — one week before the midterms

As we approach the November midterms many local elections may be decided by just a handful of votes. We invite you to gather together with your community to channel midterm energy into productive get out the vote energy and help lift up the accomplishments women have made throughout history. Join communities all over the country who are voting for candidates to protect and expand women’s rights.

 

​At each gathering, hosts can show four of Tiffany Shlain's short films — some we updated for this moment — some we are re-releasing. Wherever you are... We Are Here! Tiffany is an artist and filmmaker who created Dendrofemonology: A Feminist History Tree Ring

 

We’ll provide you with everything you need to host a gathering. You just need to provide the space and pick a time that works for you! Send us your photos afterwards and Tiffany may include them in her newsletter.

Join me on Tuesday, October 27th one week before the midterms to lift up the accomplishments women have made throughout history. We’ll watch & discuss four short films that place this moment into the larger context & gain strength and joy by being together & tapping into something national.

LEARN MORE ABOUT THE ERA — THE EQUAL RIGHTS AMENDMENT

 

President Joe Biden declared the ERA to be the law of the land as the 28th Amendment. You can watch a short video by Senator Gillibrand on C-Span or on Instagram explaining where things stand.

Below are the films along with a discussion guide and specific actions you can take to host your event or be part of the movement.

We recommend watching them in the following order: We Are Here, Senator Gillibrand, 30,000 Days, A Declaration of Interdependence, and an excerpt from MLK's speech. To delve deeper into the history of women and power, we suggest watching 50/50 below.

We Are Here (9 mins) shows the creative process and ideas behind the Dendrofemonology: A Feminist History Tree Ring sculpture and all the places this moveable monument has been.

30,000 Days (11 mins) explores the 30,000 year history of humans across cultures thinking about how to live a meaningful and purposeful life.

A Declaration of Interdependence (4 mins) demonstrates the vast potential of collaboration in the 21st century. It premiered in 2011 and its message in 2025 feels more timely than ever.

  • Vote and engage others to vote

  • Mentor and ask to be mentored

  • Continue to support women running for office

  • Protect reproductive rights in your state

  • Uphold the Equal Rights Amendment, the 28th Amendment - Declared by President Biden to be the Law of the Land!
