Shared Identity

Source: InspirED

Students are asked to think of someone in their life who seems very different to them in terms of interests, religious or political beliefs, or life experiences. Then, they make a list of all of the things that they likely share in common with this person. Students reflect on how easy or difficult it is to identify similarities and differences with different people and how the process of focusing on similarities may impact our attitudes and actions.
