The Mill Valley Film Festival’s Mind the Gap program is a gender equity initiative of the California Film Institute (CFI) designed to actively work towards closing the gender gap in the film industry. CFI is partnering with Elysium Bandini Studios to present this interactive workshop for middle and high school students in which they will analyze, critique, and discuss gender roles in contemporary films, utilizing a variety of metrics and resources from the Bechdel Test to the Geena Davis Inclusion Quotient.

Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Mall will be celebrating 50/50 Day with a special event on the Macy’s Bridge hosted by Diane Robertson, Vice President, Assistant General Counsel Legal Affairs, CBS Studios, and Tina Farris, Global Tour Manager and Founder of the non-profit, woman powered organization Decades.
